Golf Cage PVC Plan

Golf Cage PVC Plan

Golf season is upon us. Why not get an early start, or practice in your off-hours to hone you game? Its easy to do in the backyard, garage or basement by building your own PVC Golf Cage.

For our PVC Plan Friday, we’re releasing our own easy-to-follow plan on how to build your own PVC Golf Cage using FORMUFIT PVC Fittings, some PVC pipe, netting and some zip ties.

We start with a simple, cube-shaped PVC frame, constructed of 1-1/2 in. Schedule 40 PVC in 5-foot and 10-foot lengths (140-feet total). You can use plumbing grade PVC if building for indoor use, but if you plan on using this outdoors, we highly recommend using Furniture Grade PVC pipe, to help keep the UV rays away from deteriorating the frame.

The frame is built using 1-1/2 in. 3-Way PVC Elbows for the corners, 1-1/2 in. 4-Way PVC Tees and 1-1/2 in. Standard PVC Tees for the center supports to provide additional vertical support, and 1-1/2 in. 90 Degree PVC Elbows for the front, which keeps the driving area open.

Once built, the entire structure can be draped in netting (see our Netting Solutions page here, for net options). We recommend you attach the netting loosely to slow the impact of the ball, so that it doesn't bounce back.

Tip: Want to build it in Green color PVC? You can supplement the 1-1/2 in. PVC Pipe and Fittings for 1-1/4 in. Pipe and Fittings in Green, however we recommend you lower the height and width to 8-feet in each direction, due to the smaller diameter PVC pipe.  See more information on our color PVC pipe and fittings here.
